Pokémon Legends Arceus is no different, with an Unown Dex of its own, and 26 letters - and two punctuation marks - to find to gain a completed Dex entry. To help, you are given hints as to where to find each individual form, though they can be a little cryptic at times. This is where our Pokémon Legends Arceus Unown locations explainer comes in - with both locations at a glance area-by-area, as well as each one in Unown Dex (or alphabetical order) - depending on what you prefer. If you do, it’s easier once you unlock Braviary. Though Unown locations are difficult to spot from afar, knowing where they are located via the list below, and getting there by flight, will be much faster. You can see how to unlock Braviary in our Pokémon Legends Arceus walkthrough. Here are all Unown locations by region… Jubilife Village: Obsidian Fieldlands: Crimson Mirelands: Cobalt Coastlands: Coronet Highlands: Alabaster Icelands: Otherwise, Unown locations will be listed in alphabetical order, as they are in the Unown Research Notes. If you are missing the final few entries, then scanning through the following list should be easier. They are as follows: Location: The alphabet starts with the simplest hint: time rules for the worshipers of Dialga - the Diamond Clan. Head to their base in the Crimson Mirelands and grab Unown A from the top of the tent at the location below. Location: Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Sadly, navigating the island can be frustrating as you can’t fly directly over lava, which can make hunting this one a bit of a pain if you don’t know where it is. Quick-travel to Firespit Island, jump on Braviary and fly clockwise around the volcano (towards where Alpha Ninetails spawns). There’s a little path right up to the volcano on the elevated section. Stand there and look up, and you’ll spot Unown B. A well-placed Wing Ball (or equivalent) will help you catch it. Location: The location here is pretty easy - Celestica Ruins in the Coronet Highlands. Head there (ideally from high ground) and look for the two broken pillars. You’ll see Unown C on top of one of them - fly to it (or the pillar next to it) with Braviary to catch it. Location: Remember the story mission at the campfire north of the Mirelands Camp? Head there (directly north of the Mirelands basecamp) and look on top of the stumps - it’s virtually impossible to miss. Location: The grove here refers to the Gruelling Grove in the northeast of the Obsidian Fieldlands. In the middle of the pond is a small island with a tree on it - Unown E is nestled in the branches. Location: Mighty mountains? Sounds like the Coronet Highlands. If you’ve come across the Alpha Goodra, you’ll know the pool of mud. Directly east of the Ancient quarry and south of the Sonorous Path is a big mountain with the aforementioned gooey one. Unown F is on the front of the jagged rock to the west of the area, looking at the red pool below. Location: This is probably one of the simplest hints - the waterfall in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Fly to the Obsidian Falls at the far east of the area and land on the right bank, if you were looking down the waterfall. Look to your left and you’ll see Unown G stuck to the rock. Location: Nice and simple: you need to head to the southern gate and step outside. Turn around, look up and you’ll see the beady eye of Unown H staring back down at you. Location: For those who skipped the lesson on which Lake Guardian represents which aspect of the mind, this is Mespirit’s cave - Lake Verity at the Obsidian Fieldlands. Head over to the island in the middle of the lake and run to the north shore. You’ll see Unown I doing its best to be a plant, but sticking out like a sore thumb. Cute, huh? Location: This is very close to the previous Unown in this area. Head south to the entrance of the quarry (by Wayward Wood on the map), and head through it looking east. You’ll spot Unown J nestled away on the ceiling, visible only through a gap between two blocks. A Wing Ball (or equivalent) should help you win this game of hide and seek. Location: Quick-travel to the Diamond Settlement in the Crimson Mirelands and then head north to the Shrouded Ruins. Unown K is on the weird stack of what looks like flint to the south of the area. Location: The twin falls should be fairly obvious once you know this is in the Highlands. Starting at your first basecamp, head east to the Wayward Cave. Exploring this cave (right, right then left) you’ll come across a big rock. Smash it with a Pokémon and grab Unown L from the wall to the right. Location: Bit of a harsh way to discuss where Ursaluna lives. Anyway, head south from Sludge Mound and you’ll see a large circular platform. Unown M is camping on top of the fallen tree like some kind of weird spider. Make it stop by putting it in a Pokéball. Location: Again, a pretty simple one, but if you need the help, it’s the giant Pinsir-like horns to the far east of the Colbalt Coastlands. Jump on Basculegion, and look at the west side of the westmost horn. Chuck a Wing Ball (or equivalent) from Basculegion’s back so you get the extra distance - or if you’re feeling really brave, jump with Basculegion and throw a Pokéball. Location: ‘World of Ice’ can only mean one thing - an ice cave in the Alabaster Icelands. The question, however, is which one… Head south from the Icepeak Arena the the Avalanche Slopes - you’ll see the entrance to the Ice Column Chamber on the ground. You’ll see Unown O nestled at the top of the back of the last pillar, in the room on the left (with the Alpha Frosslass). Location: The Fabled Spring in the far west of the Coronet Highlands, where you can catch the likes of Clefairy (along with Alpha Budew), is where you need to head. Look in the flower patch to the east of the area, where you’ll spot Unown P-eony - your last for this area. Location: The spring by the sea is specifically the lake north of the Windbreak Stand (west of Islespy Shore). There’s a cave here with two trees by the entrance - Unown Q is on the tree to the left of the entrance (if you’re looking at the entrance). Location: This one is by the late Lord Arcanine’s grave in the Cobalt Coastlands. Looking at the grave, walk to the right-hand slope and look down it at the rocky patch to the left. Unown R is on the slope there - be careful you don’t fall off though! Location: This one is pretty obvious - it’s the dam you come across on the way to fighting Kleavor. Unown S is on the south side of the southern part of the of the dam. Location: Another easy one, and easily visible from the top of Avalugg’s Legacy. It’s on a pillar to the northeast of the Legacy - you’ll need to fly to it with Braviary. Location: This is relatively close to the last one. Fly east to Heart’s Crag and scale the double waterfall. You’ll see Unown U on the back of the statue’s head at the top of the waterfall. Location: The sprawling red swamp is the crimson bit of the mirelands - head to east of the Scarlet Bog and look for a Y-shaped dead tree sticking out of one of the pools at the location below. Unown V - your last one for this area - is hanging from one of the branches. Location: Easily the most difficult one in the game - not only to spot, but also catch, because you need to be very specific with where you stand and where you aim - too far in any other direction and you’ll hit anything from the lamppost to the Weezing statue. You’ll see this tricksy Pokémon is on the left-hand Magikarp if you’re looking towards the entrance. Stand around two steps to the left of the lamppost, as close to this screen shot as you can (this was the shot that landed, after around 10 balls). You’ll need a Wing Ball (or equivalent), because you have to throw pretty far. Definitely save the game before you start throwing, in case you wind up wasting more balls than you want to! Location: The final Unown in this area is fairly simple when you think about it - Unown X is at the top of the tree in the Grandtree Arena. Jump on Sneasler and make your way to the top, rotate until you see the branch you can jump onto (southeast) then look towards the end of the large branch. You’ll see Unown X staring at you when you get up there. Location: If you’ve done the Wisps, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Unown Y. Get yourself to the Icebound Falls, west of your first basecamp, and climb/fly two-thirds of the way up it to catch Unown Y. Location: The last Unown in this location is another nice, easy one - head to the shipwrecks at Deadwood Haunt in the Cobalt Coastlands. Unown Z is on the mast of the upright ship. Our Pokémon Legends Arceus walkthrough will help you pick a starter Pokémon and win the Kleavor boss fight. You’re also tasked with filling the Hisui Pokédex by obtaining new evolutions like Kleavor by evolving Scyther, Wyrdeer by evolving Stantler, Sneasler by evolving Hisui Sneasel and Overquil by evolving Hisui Qwilfish. There’s a host of new evolution methods, including ones for the Eevee evolutions. Take the time to complete Requests too, such as The Sea’s Legend, Wurmple’s Evolved! and finding the Wisp locations. Don’t forget to track down every Unown location too. Location: The Alabaster Icelands’s Snowfall Hot Springs is home to Unown !. Look for the berry tree to the west of the area. Your target is hanging from a tree immediately behind it. Location: Your final Unown in Jubilife Village is Unown ?. This one is round the back of your house, hanging next to some drying laundry. Aim low on this one, or you’ll hit the eaves of the house. And there you have it; with the 28th Unown caught, you not only get the perfect Pokédex entry with all research tasks ticked off, but you get the full Pokédex entry to boot. Who would have thought nobody would take the professor seriously, eh? Looking for more to find in Arceus? Then consult our Wisp locations page.
