Crossplay and cross-progression have, of course, been available in Rainbow Six Siege for some time now, but only between PC, Stadia, and Luna. As of next month, though, that’ll open out to incorporate PlayStation and Xbox, so console owners can take advantage of the features too. From 6th December, console players can access their progress, currencies, and other items across all platforms simply by logging into their accounts. They can also team up with friends on other consoles via Ubisoft Connect, although it’s possible to opt out of crossplay if preferred....

The arcade-style chapters play quite differently to the main game, and though their share the same locations, the Mr Raccoon locations will appear in different places - requiring a keen eye to find them. As with the regular Mr Raccoon statues, they can be easily missed, and require a bullet or a melee attack to destroy them. And once they are destroyed once, you don’t have to do them again....

Although I totally understood the arguments against the price at the time, I fell into the “it’s worth every penny” camp, as I was instantly taken in by Returnal’s dark sci-fi vibes, super slick gameplay and presentation. In fact, I tumbled into such a deep Returnal hole that, 20 days after its April 30th launch, I’d completely rinsed the game for every last little secret and even unlocked the Platinum trophy, something that I normally have neither the time nor inclination to do....

Deceased Scouts, in the very possible scenario you’ve yet to see one, are supposed show up while playing Returnal with an online connection, and represent other players who’ve died while attempting to best the horrors present on the planet Atropos. The idea is that players can either scavenge or avenge these corpses to increase their ether or gain other rewards, but many have reported a distinct lack of Deceased Scouts in their game since launch....

The fix arrives as part of GTA 5’s Title Update 1.53 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which - as detailed on Rockstar’s support site - includes general network connectivity improvements alongside better load times specifically for players on PC. “Thanks to t0st for his contributions around this part of today’s title update”, says Rockstar. UPDATE 16/3/21, 9.26am: GTA Online fan t0st has now said his efforts to cut the game’s PC load times have earned him a $10k bounty....

The news comes in the face of sanctions against the country limiting access to technology and software following its invasion of Ukraine. Tech companies like Microsoft, Apple, Sony and Adobe have pulled products and services in Russia, while many games companies have also followed suit. According to Torrent Freak (thanks PC Gamer), the “Priority Action Plan for Ensuring the Development of the Russian Economy in the Conditions of External Sanctions Pressure” has been proposed by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development....

On its release, players will receive new content including a fishing mini game and an angler mask. There will also be the chance to add various fish and insects to your Vivarium. Meanwhile, developer Shedworks has said, thanks to the PS5’s DualSense controller, riding over the game’s sand dunes will be “as immersive as ever” with this release. In Sable, players take on the role of a young girl who leaves her clan as part of a rite of passage ceremony....

Among them was the news that Scarlet Nexus will arrive on Xbox Game Pass today. The action-RPG was released in June on current and last-gen consoles to a generally positive reception. Bandai Namco also revealed new details about the game’s first DLC, which adds new Bonding Episodes, Crush Vision and some new outfits. Microsoft also announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming arrives in Japan, Australia, Brazil and Mexico from tomorrow. We also got a glimpse of Forza Horizon 5 running on PC, along with features such as ray tracing on ForzaVista, the vehicle viewing mode, and the recommended specs for running the game....

The recently-released sci-fi survival battle royale hybrid has an experimental sandbox testing platform built into the game called ScavLab, and it’s in this that the test will take place tonight, from 7pm UK time. This first public ScavLab event will allow thousands of players to gather together in a single, shared in-game communal hub. Developer Midwinter plans competitive sports mini-games, large-scale combat, as well as a live, digital AMA with CEO and co-founder Josh Holmes....

The general festivities begin on Thursday, 15th September (running until Tuesday, 20th September), bringing a free Arrrgh! emote for anyone that logs in during the event, plus special Merchant Alliance fireworks, and discounts in the premium Pirate Emporium store. Additionally, players will be able to pick up a second free emote - Ranting Rogue - from the Pirate Emporium. The main event, though, is Season Seven’s Community Day, running for 24 hours from 10am UTC on Sunday, 17th September....

Shadow Warrior 3, which was originally due to release in 2021, follows the continuing adventures of protagonist Lo Wang as he shoots and slashes his way across Neo-Feudal Japan, this time on a quest to recapture an ancient dragon unleashed from its eternal prison. As in previous instalments, Shadow Warrior 3 serves up an acrobatic blend of gun- and katana-based first-person combat - with the already agile likes of air dashes, wall runs, and double jumps enhanced by a new grappling hook ability....

Released last June as the sixth game in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series, this latest entry hit the 1m sales mark in a little under 12 months. The franchise as a whole has now passed 13m sales, CI also noted. Generally speaking, the Sniper Ghost Warrior series has recently grown in quality after some earlier stumbles - in particular the series’ attempt at going open world with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 which CI itself said had been “too ambitious”....
