PlayStation and Xbox editions have been pushed back to 17th December. The Nintendo Switch version has been delayed further, and will now arrive “in early 2022”. Boxed copies of the game had been due to arrive next Tuesday, 7th December, following the game’s digital launch last month. But, as you’re probably aware, things have not exactly gone to plan. GTA Trilogy’s rocky launch was marked by a slew of technical issues, while the game’s PC version was pulled offline completely for several days as Rockstar rushed to remove “unintentionally included” files....

The first discovery came from self-proclaimed “Switch tinkerer” OatmealDome. In this case, the modder managed to unearth some Half-Life 2 content tucked away in the Portal: Companion Collection’s files. “The entirety of Half-Life 2 (minus maps and music) is present in the ROM,” they wrote via Twitter. “Likely based on the NVIDIA Shield port, with a little Xbox 360 sprinkled in.” They go on to add, “Also, I should note that having at least some Half-Life 2 leftovers present in the ROM is expected, considering Portal 1 is just a fancy mod of Half-Life 2....

As its name suggests, Africa is very much the focus of Humankind’s first paid expansion, and it introduces six new playable cultures spanning all six eras. In the Ancient Era, for instance, those that purchase the DLC will gain the opportunity to establish their civilisation using the Expansionist-focused Bantu, enabling them to acquire plentiful land fast and early. The Agrarian-focused Garamantes become available in the Classical Era, making it easier for players to secure food from arid territories, and the Medieval Era brings the Swahili, a Merchant-based culture handy for those wishing to exploit their bountiful coasts....
