In Hitman 3, PSVR owners will be able to experience the series’ acclaimed stealth action in first-person, directly through the eyes on Agent 47. We got a brief look at that following IO’s initial VR unveiling in August last year, but now the developer has shared new gameplay, illustrating how the series’ familiar action will be transformed via PSVR. In the video, players can be seen bamboozling NPCs from behind, peeking around corners to unload a few bullets, sneakily concealing themselves with a newspaper to engage in unseen surveillance, hoisting bodies over ledges, even felling a grand piano lid on one unsuspecting NPC, all with the additional sense of presence VR affords. Notably, PSVR support extends beyond the new levels introduced in Hitman 3; IO is also including all stages from its two previous Hitman games in this latest series instalment (existing owners can access them at no additional cost), and these will be playable in VR too. Hitman 3 is due to release on PS4 and PS5 (as well as Xbox One, Series X/S, PC, and Stadia) on 20th January. Players wishing to take advantage of PSVR support will need the PS4 version of the game, which IO has confirmed will be included as part of the PS5 release. Sony’s PSVR adapter will, of course, also be required to experience the game in VR on PS5. Here’s where you can pre-order Hitman 3. Those that opt for the PS4 version can upgrade to the enhanced PS5 edition for free.
